MONTESSORI CONFERENCE COMES TO BIRMINGHAM, APRIL, 2019
Raleigh, NC -November 16, 2018- Southeast Montessori Collective, a 501(c)(3) organization
with the mission of furthering Montessori education in the southeastern United States through
support, professional development and networking, will hold its second annual conference April
The conference location will be at Joseph Bruno Montessori Academy in Birmingham, and will
feature workshops and speakers designed for classroom teachers, Montessori school
administrators, parents who homeschool using Montessori methods and Montessori advocates.
Birmingham leaders in education, including the Superintendent and members of the Board of
Education, are invited to attend as guests of honor and to speak on the rich history of education
advancement in Birmingham, in Alabama, or in the southeast.
“We are bringing the annual conference to Alabama this year because despite the growing
number of quality Montessori schools in the region, there is still limited professional
development and networking opportunities for the educators and the families that they serve,”
said Rachel Kincaid, founder of Southeast Montessori Collective. “We look forward to bringing
educators and leaders from across the state together to collaborate and gain a deeper sense of
the movement that is gaining momentum on a national level.”
